We are running another of our popular Six Week Career Change workshops beginning on Tuesday 11th October and running every Tuesday evening until 15th November. This workshop is designed to give students a foundation in floristry and is perfect for those who want to begin a career in floristry or want to learn a number of different designs.
Norie Fujimori has over 10 years’ experience in the floristry industry. Having first trained at the prestigious De Master Dutch Flower School in Tokyo for four years and then with internationally renowned florists Jane Packer and Paula Pryke, Norie went on to work for one of the top florists, Absolute Flowers, in London. Since working in London, Norie has continued working with prestigious florists in Brighton and regularly designs and creates beautiful, original arrangements for a wide range of events across Sussex.
The training I received was amongst the best and I want to be able to pass on what I have learnt to others through The Flower School.
Vicki Gilbert previously spent over five years working in training and development for a large international company before having a career change in 2008 to fulfil a lifelong passion to become a florist. Having received a National Certificate of Floristry from Plumpton College, Vicki furthered her learning while working for one of Brighton’s leading florists alongside Norie.
Working with The Flower School allows me to continue my passion of working within the floristry industry but also utilises my previous training skills – for me, it’s a perfect combination!
How we work
Norie personally selects the flowers, designs the workshop and arrangements and teaches the hands-on, practical skills of floristry in the classes. Vicki is responsible for the business side of The Flower School, the initial contact with the students and marketing so between the two of us the business runs like clockwork!
